Contestants who arrive standing on the yellow footprints will soon experience the challenge of a lifetime. Awaiting is several months of training with intense Drill Instructors pushing contestants to the limits. The Drill Instructors will give every effort to train candidates, even after some of them have given up on themselves.
Those who get to Basic Training will be challenged physically and mentally every day. The military style structure and demands that will be placed on these recruits is no joke. Basic Training will be Real Drill Instructors, Real People, and Real Results. From Reveille (wake up time) to Taps (bedtime), the sounds of demanding Drill Instructors pushing each individual to move with the speed, intensity and volume will be heard.
Superior performance by individuals will stand out amongst the platoon. Those individuals may find themselves in leadership positions as guide or squad-leaders. Most people want to have those positions but when they get it, are unable to handle the pressure because they become responsible for the actions of their other squad members. When squad members do wrong, those in leadership positions are held accountable.
Training is demanding. An idea of the Daily Schedule is as follows:

The key for personal and professional growth is the Drill Instructors. The Drill Instructors will demand the highest standards of personal conduct, morality and professional skill. Even though some of the contestants will never be in the military, the training they receive here in Basic Training will help give them the structure and discipline needed to be successful in life, regardless of future endeavors.
Becoming a Basic Training contestant does not mean graduation is guaranteed. Below are the attrition rates of recruits in military boot camps. The key reasons for these individuals not completing boot camp are medical, physical, and mental.
| Service | Latest Available Rate (2006)* |
